The Full Story
Under the Landscape - Cyanotype 4
Mapping Landscapes - this series is a progression from my Energies of Earth series, the series where I used gravity, forces and frequencies to draw during the exposure of the cyanotype. These new works combine my fluid, experimental drawing techniques with with archival photography negatives collected from various open sources.

Process of this work
I am invested in stretching the boundaries of cyanotypes as a medium, taking this traditional print process to its limit through varying negatives, multiple exposures, reworking the chemistry and its usual ways of display. My works are always an accumulation of months/years worth of experimentation and this print is no different. Under the Landscape- Cyanotype 4 is a result of multiple exposures, I have used drawing elements and mapping elements and within different exposures to layer my fluid drawings and typography.
Depth
This cyanotype is on fabric. I have used printing fabric which is a cotton rich, white fabric to capture the details of my drawings & negatives. I have then stretched the work around a chunky frame. I absolutely love the way the print wraps itself around the edges of the canvas.
